Books to Read on the Journey of Becoming your Best Self

Everyone is on their journey towards self-love and reaching their fullest potential. We are all at different places in our lives and experience life from different perspectives. We all have aspects of our lives that we want to improve upon. Whether that is focusing on your health, getting out of a toxic relationship, self-love, boundaries, etc. Sometimes you need a little help along the way. Through your journey, having people to lean on and support you is amazing. However, asking for help is the hardest thing in the world if you are anything like me. I have always been the person who works on myself in silence. One main contributor to my growth in self-love, relationships, and a healthy lifestyle has been reading. When I did not have an answer to my problem, I found a book that did. I wanted to share some of the amazing books that have guided me towards falling in love with myself and my life. I hope they can help you in the way they helped me. Let's get reading.

1. "13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do" By Amy Morin

This book allowed me to call myself out on my bullshit and recognize unhealthy mental behaviors. Many times we do not realize how much our thoughts can impact other aspects of our life. This book emphasizes the importance of mental strength and explains how to develop healthier habits and thoughts. You can't live a positive life with a negative mind, and this book reminds you of that.

2. "101 ESSAYS that will CHANGE the way YOU THINK" By Brianna Wiest

This book is one of my all-time favorites. I recommend it to everyone. I think this book is so beneficial because it has a chapter about EVERYTHING. No matter what chapter of your life you are in or what challenges you are facing, this book will have advice for you. This book is so unique because it reminds you that someone else has experienced what you are going through and grew from it.

3.) "Declutter your Mind" By S.J. Scott, Barrie Davenport

It is so easy to develop unhealthy habits. We get so caught up in life. We don't realize the way our minds affect every other aspect of our life. We tend to get anxious about things that don't matter, negatively talk about ourselves. This book allows you to analyze how your thoughts impact your lifestyle and how to make changes that will lead you towards a life you enjoy.

4.) "Women Don't Owe You Pretty" By Florence Given

This book should be a requirement for all women to read. The energy throughout the books reminds you to protect your energy and teaches you how to be a badass feminist. This book reminded me that this is MY life. Therefore it SHOULD revolve around me. If you don't like them, dump them. If you don't like how you look, change your mindset, not your body. Women are powerful, beautiful, unique. You don't owe anyone, especially a man. If you need a reminder of that, read this book.

5.) "I am That Girl" By Alexis Jones
This book reminded me that I am good enough not only for others but for myself. This book features stories from 30 different women that inspire you to tell that little negative voice in your head to f*CK off. Start living life for yourself. Live the life you want, not the life you think others want you to have. Do it for you.
